Custom Foot Orthotics
Custom Orthotics help improve foot alignment and body mechanics. Often times our bodies are unable to naturally achieve optimal foot alignment. This is not uncommon, and it’s important to note that we can effectively correct improper body mechanics and/or alleviate pain with custom foot orthotics.
Our feet absorb the stress from our body, and as a critical part of posture and alignment, we take special care when crafting a customized fit for your individual feet.
Here are some common injuries that have success with custom orthotics:
- Plantar Fasciitis
- Posterior Tibialis Tendonitis
- Achilles Tendonitis
- Neuromas in the Foot
- Hammer Toes
- Bunions
- Over Pronation
- Patellofemoral Syndrome
- Iliotibial Band Syndrome
- Hip Bursitis
- Back Pain
- Knee Pain
- Hip Pain
- General Joint Pain
- Ankle Sprains
- And more…
Finding the Right Fit
Our team of Therapists are specially certified in customized orthotics. Should we determine custom orthotics are the right fit for you, we will evaluate multiple aspects of your body to create a successful outcome.
We will start with a thorough gait and movement analysis to help determine your exact needs. A biomechanical examination of your foot and lower extremities will then be completed for use in the actual fabrication of your orthotics. During our examination we’ll measure your foot, ankle, toes, knees, and hip for a full understanding of how your feet are affecting your entire body movement.
As you would expect, your orthotics will be created specifically for your feet using a 3D molded replica of your foot. Your custom mold will be created using plaster to properly guide the fabrication of your orthotic. We will create the right plan for your custom orthotics using the 3-dimensional foot mold and the results of your examination. Once completed, we will send them out for fabrication. Your orthotics are usually ready in 2-4 weeks.*
*Note: Not all insurances will pay for custom foot orthotics. Out of pocket expenses may incurred. Please confirm with your medical insurance to determine the rate of reimbursement for custom foot orthotics.
